With the 2012 NFL Draft around the corner, let's take a look at players who can make an instant impact in the league.
These three players will be first-round selections and will excel in their first professional season.?
?
Matt Kalil, OT, USC
Wherever Matt Kalil ends up in the NFL Draft, he will have a successful rookie season in the NFL. He's going to have his hands full in his first season because he's likely to be matched up with a quarterback that has struggled, but he has the tools to become a first-year Pro Bowler in the league.
At 6'7", Kalil is a big tackle but can move and dominate defenders as soon as he gets his hands to their chests.?
He has all the tools to be great in his first year.
?
Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College
If Luke Kuechly goes to the Philadelphia Eagles, he's going to have a big first season in the NFL.
Philadelphia's bugaboo last year was their?linebacking?corps. Kuechly is amazing in pursuit of the football between the tackles.
He will have a great first season in the league given his career at Boston College and how well he would fit with the Eagles.
?
Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
After seeing Michael Floyd's combine time, you start to get the idea that this guy can be really good in the NFL. If he lands in a good situation, maybe with a Chicago team and Jay Cutler, we could be looking at a player that can not only have a good rookie campaign but a solid NFL career.
Floyd caught 100 passes for 1,147 yards and nine touchdowns in his senior season with Notre Dame. He's a fantastic player that can excel in the league if put in the right situation.?
Possibly even a better place for Floyd to succeed would be in San Diego with Philip Rivers. We are talking about two really good quarterbacks in the NFL that Floyd could land with.
Sounds like a successful situation.?
